Description of Practice

I provide an alternative to litigation, in which the parties can control the pace and content of efforts to settle their dispute, all with the guidance of an experienced attorney trained in mediation and the collaborative divorce process.

Professional Background

In addition to his work with families, Attorney Fishman’s career had included working with closely-held businesses and non-profit organizations, assisting them with valuations, employment matters, intellectual property, joint venture, agreements, purchase and sale issues, and construction matters. Attorney Fishman has experience both in private practice and as in-house counsel, giving him even broader understanding of the many needs of his clients.

Experience

I have assisted hundreds of clients through divorce, separation, adoption and other family legal matters. I have extensive training in mediation and collaborative technique and process, and continue to refine my skills through trainings and participating in several alternative dispute resolution organizations.

Approach

When working with divorcing families, I strongly favor mediation and collaborative approaches. I believe that mediation and collaborative approaches are among the best, most appropriate tools for the job; these approaches embrace creativity, flexibility, curiosity, and fairness. Using these approaches I help my clients find their voice, identify and express their true needs, encourage a fair settlement, and pursue durable agreements my clients want and need.

Fees

Mediation and collaborative approaches are often the most cost-effective processes available to clients. You retain control over the pace and outcome, and decide how much assistance you need to reach a comprehensive agreement. Fees are based on hourly rates. Please call for more information.
